Writing for the web training workshop
This workshop is for people who write for the web as part of their work. We will teach you how to create better content by showing you good and poor content from a wide range of Australian web sites (government, university, corporate and non-profit sites).
You will:
- Learn how to produce content that is more useful, usable and accessible
- Practice writing and content design techniques through a series of exercises
- Receive a booklet of notes and references (90-100 pages)
- Be able to download templates and checklists to use in your organisation.

What we don't cover
This is not a technical workshop. We will not cover broader design issues for the web such as information architecture, navigation design or visual design.
About the presenter
Dey Alexander has 15 years experience as a web professional and has been running writing workshops for 8 years. As a usability specialist, she has seen first-hand the problems that poor content create. She will relate her experiences and observations to give you a full sense of what works and what doesn't in an online environment.
